Born in Queensland, Australia, Christopher grew up in the coastal town of Noosa Heads surrounded by a family of industry professionals and gastronomic enthusiasts.
Moving to Melbourne, Australia’s culinary capital, in 2006, Christopher’s first roles as Sommelier were in some of the most prestigious establishments, including a three and a half year tenure at Vue de Monde, one of Australia’s finest gastronomic restaurants, according to the 2010 AA Guide.
Leaving Australia for London, Christopher found a first role with Marcus Wareing in 2011, where he attained the position of Assistant Head-Sommelier in less than a year.
In 2012, Christopher became part of the Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester team under the behest of the restaurant’s then Head Sommelier, Vincent Pastorello, taking on the role of his assistant. Promoted within two years to Head Sommelier, Christopher now leads a team of 5, all of whom share his objective; delivering tailor-made and memorable service to guests. His talent in advising the best pairings from the 1,000 wines available on the wine list created by Gerard Margeon, Head Sommelier for Alain Ducasse is exceptional. It stems from his distinguished capacity to listen and understand his guests’ requests, combined with a new-wave approach to teamwork with Executive Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet.
